Money Laundering Regulations

The Law requires Solicitors to obtain satisfactory evidence of the identity of their clients and sometimes people associated with them.  This is because Solicitors who deal with money and property on behalf of their client can be used by criminals wanting to launder money.  To comply with the Law, we need to get evidence of your identity as soon as possible.  Our practice is to inspect your Passport or Photo Card Driving Licence, together with a utility bill or bank/credit statement showing your name and address.
If you have any queries or concerns about these identification requirements, or if you cannot provide us with the documents requested, then you should contact our Office Manager in the first instance, who will be able to discuss other ways to verify your identity.
