Vicky is a Private Client solicitor who qualified in 2017. She is experienced in dealing with Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship matters, with a particular interest in organic and acquired brain injury. She began her working career as a carer, working in a multitude of settings with children, young people and adults who have vulnerabilities due to mental or physical disabilities and is a passionate advocate for them. She has represented clients at Mental Health and Education Tribunals and was recognised by the Law Society as a member of the Mental Health Scheme. Vicky also has experience working in prison law, often for vulnerable prisoners and their families, which has provided her with an understanding of both sides of our legal system.
Vicky has personal experience of the practicalities involved in caring for someone who has a brain injury, difficulties with cognitive functioning or other life limiting illness and rather than being a solicitor specialising in these areas, it was her life experience in these areas which prompted her legal specialism. She is able to relate to clients who deal with these issues.
Vicky used to be a Special Educational Needs teacher and continues to work as a SEND mediator, resolving disputes between parents and Local Authorities. She is also a qualified and experience Civil and Commercial mediator and is a member of the Medio-Legal Society, where she indulges her interest in medicine and law, particularly where capacity is concerned.
