About Us

Mowll & Mowll represents a wide range of clients, from well known institutions to small businesses and private individuals. Located on the outskirts of Dover, in Kent, the firm concentrates only on the law, but across a broad spectrum, and has a reputation for integrity, intelligence and service.

The firm was established when Edward Worsfold Mowll set up in practice in 1871 in Castle Street, Dover. He was joined by his brother Martyn in 1889. The way they would have conducted their partnership then bears little comparison to the technology-led processes of today but the same principles of integrity, intelligence and personal service remain firmly in place.

Mowll & Mowll has long been in the forefront of IT, having embraced it enthusiastically when it bought its first computer in 1983. Now, there is a modern network-linked computer on everyones desk. There are on-line connections to the Internet and major databases including Companies House, the Land Registry and an electronic link to NatWest bank which enables us to give instant instructions on financial transactions. We also communicate by email with many of our clients.

The fees for legal advice are always estimated in advance where possible and kept to the minimum, consistent with a top quality service.

The over-riding policy at Mowll & Mowll is to help our clients proactively to achieve the best results without recourse to damaging and expensive litigation. The relatively small size of the practice gives us a head start in providing a personal and economical service. We like to know our clients personally and for them to know us.

We have formal training schemes, staff induction and appraisal schemes. Mowll & Mowll believes in long term mutually satisfying relationships with clients and staff.
